Benefits of Dispute It

  • My Story. Based on my account of negotiating attorney refunds and filing a State Bar grievance against two negligent attorneys.
  • Build on My Success. My journey involved two attorneys, where I invested a total of $15,037 in legal fees. I recovered 43% of my total investment in attorney refunds.
  • Learn from My Mistakes. My shortcomings caused me to miss out on thousands of more dollars in attorney refunds and sanctions against one attorney. However, learn from my mistakes so that you do not repeat them.
  • Know Your Options. Filing a grievance with your State Bar is NOT your only option if you are trying to get an attorney refund. Dispute It offers the layman an easy 3-step process consisting of Research & Document, Evaluate Your Options, and Execute.
  • Save Time. Leverage my step-by-step guide and proven templates to greatly reduce the investment of time required, regardless of the option(s) you choose.
  • Improve Your Chances. Regardless of whether you file a grievance with your State Bar, go the route of your states fee dispute programs, or negotiate directly with your attorney, your chance of success is very low. Dispute It will help you to greatly improve your odds.

Ken, that’s great! I am glad to hear you and your wife will be getting back some of your fee. You both should hold your heads high. I rarely see an instance in which ex-clients take on their old lawyer without representation and are successful. Many congrats on your win, and I hope you felt my counsel was helpful. Anonymous Attorney

From The Author

My passion for writing Dispute It was birthed from my own experience, having labored tirelessly through the process of negotiating attorney refunds and filing a grievance petition with the State Bar of Texas. Along the way, I found that there was a limited amount of information available to help me, and the last thing I could afford to do was hire another attorney. Although I do not know your story, I can only assume that you fall somewhere on the spectrum of feeling frustrated, to downright violated. Trust me; I have walked in your shoes.

Respectfully Yours,

I thought the book was excellent and well put. It was just the right amount of information (this will keep the persons attention regarding filing on an attorney). It is step by step the process in order to go after an attorney for getting your money back. I wish I had some of this information when I was going through my deal with the state bar. I also liked how you spaced everything outlining everything and where to go to get the information you needed.

My advice to people that are upset, frustrated, or feel that they were represented unfairly need to follow this book step by step. I had an issue with an attorney and she represented me poorly and basically stole my money and I almost lost my children as a result. Wouldn’t return phone calls, emails, and missed court dates. I won’t go into detail of the facts but,……I was advised by another attorney about filing with the State Bar to attempt to get reimbursed for money that I spent on a retainer ($8,500.00) and my attorney never did anything Not to mention the fees I had to spend for my new attorney in order to clean the mess that attorney created for me. I filed a formal complaint with the State Bar. Guess what? They opened an investigation. It is a long process but it is worth it. I was able to obtain half of my money back as they found (after their investigation) guilty of misuse of funds and being unethical. I, fortunately, did keep notes, emails, and phone records. I will say one thing…..KEEP A JOURNAL AND ALL DOCUMENTS OF EVERYTHING!!!….This book explains exactly what you need to do in order to be successful in getting a refund and having the attorney disciplined for their actions (or lack thereof). This book provides a step by step plan in order for you to do that successfully.

I could go on and on about this…GET THE BOOK! I wish I knew half of what I had to find out when I went through my compliant.
